FrOM Gesture to Sound:
A Conducting Pedagogy of Musical Response
From Gesture to Sound is a pedagogy for conductors that centers gesture as cause, listening as a primary skill, and rehearsal as a process of inviting musical response.
Designed for early-career conductors, this work moves beyond pattern-based conducting to focus on clarity, spatial awareness, functional rehearsal tools, and reflective practice. Rather than emphasizing control or display, it offers a shared language for understanding how gesture creates sound—and how sound responds.
The goal is not control.
The goal is connection—and inspiration.
